Liver LIFE Walk, supported by Metroelectro

On September 11th 2010 the American Liver Foundation hosted their annual Liver LIFE Walk Event in Downtown San Jose. The Liver LIFE Walk is a pledged 3 mile fundraising walk event that promotes liver wellness, while raising funds for critically needed liver disease research, education and advocacy. The event benefited the American Liver Foundation (ALF), the nation’s leading nonprofit organization for liver health promotion and disease prevention. Our mission is to facilitate, advocate and promote education, support and research for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease.
 
The walk day was a fantastic success with perfect 75 degree weather and over 250 walkers supporting the cause. Walkers enjoyed the scenic walk route along the Guadalupe River trail and especially enjoyed our rest station stocked with Metroelectro water at the 1.5 mile mark. A big thank you goes out to Metroelectro for keeping both our walkers and our fabulous volunteers hydrated throughout the walk day!!!

Old Saint Mary's Serves Local Community

On Saturday, Old Saint Mary's Cathedral, the first church built as a Cathedral in California, had a supporters dinner and raffle entitled "Saint Among Us" to help OSM continue to serve the local community through its various community outreach programs.

It was a fun-filled evening of scrumptious food from different San Francisco neighborhoods and festive music by The Dung Beetles Band from Clif Bar & Company. Water was donated by Metroelectro and wines from Clif Family Winery.

I want to especially express a word of thanks to our supporters: Clif Bar & Company, Metroelectro, Popchips, and to all the volunteers who helped make the event a huge success. Thank you!

Amazing Race

Celebrations Christian Preschool staff and teachers were treated to a surprise last week when they reported to work Monday morning expecting an all day in-service training, only to find out that they would, instead, be split up into teams to compete against each other in an Amazing Race. Soma Beverage provided the teams with Metroelectro to stay hydrated during their 3-hour race throughout the city of Brentwood, CA., as well as Metromint to enjoy during their post-race luau lunch. Team members were also outfitted with MetroMint’s large reusable tote bags to help haul their survival gear and challenge acquisitions.

Teams received clues to various locations, where on arrival, they were required to complete a challenge in order to receive the clue to their next stop. Teams rallied through challenges, which included eating platters of obscure foods, mummifying each other using toilet paper, running obstacle courses through water parks while saran-wrapped together, building domino chains out of macaroni and cheese boxes and jumping into a pool in their clothes to fill a bucket of water. Our participants and volunteers absolutely loved the waters and Celebration Christian Preschool sends out a big Aloha and Mahalo to Metromint and Metroelectro!!
